To help you with family history, the Forum has a research room at Billings Public Library. The Genealogy Room is located on the second floor of the library, 510 North Broadway in Billings, Montana.
The Genealogy Room will re-open in October.
The "Gen Room" is generally staffed on Monday through Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. to provide research help and instruction. Patrons are limited to 30 minutes in the Gen Room, and only 3 people, with masks, in the room at a time.
If you need help outside of the staffed hours please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment.
The card catalogue can be found on this website. The collection is available when a volunteer is there. Items do NOT check out.
If you are unable to visit the Genealogy Room, you may submit research requests through this website or by mail in care of Billings Public Library.
There is a charge. (See Research Requests.) We now offer PayPal as a means of making payment online.
The Gen-Bug is published four times a year and is available to members via this website. Older editions are available online to the general public.
Search for "yellowstone genealogy". Programs and events are posted on FaceBook.
The Forum is a member of the Montana State Genealogical Society (montanamsgs.org) and the Federal of Genealogical Societies (fgs.org).
The Forum has served Billings and south-central Montana since 1977, to encourage and instruct members in family history research.
